VALA is a Web3 social app that brings a short-form video feed and a crypto wallet together in one place. Creators can promote any coin in their videos and earn from the attention they bring, while people scrolling can buy or sell that coin, tip the creator, and earn from their own engagement, all without leaving the app.

When founder Radames reached out, VALA had a bold idea but no designer, brand, or product yet. The challenge was making crypto feel as natural as scrolling a social feed for everyday people who are new to it, while keeping it fun and approachable around the mascot they had planned.

I led a team of two designers, illustrators, and animators, and together we designed VALA from the ground up, from a new brand and visual style to the full app, including the feed, creator profiles, tipping, the wallet, and trading. The goal was to make buying a coin as easy as liking a post, with prices and transactions clear enough to trust.

The work also included a landing page microsite for VALA’s crowdfunding campaign and its pitch on Go Fund Yourself, Cheddar’s startup pitch show.
